The start of a new year often sparks a fresh perspective – and according to our latest Employee Sentiment Index (ESI), New Zealand employees are feeling it.
The survey of over 500 New Zealand employees reveals:
- 65% of New Zealand employees believe the new year is the perfect time to search for a new job.
- 21% of employees think they’re not in the right role, signaling a potential shift in job market trends.
- 13% of employees rated their most recent recruitment experience as “bad”—that’s nearly 330,000 employees feeling let down.
The latest ESI also provides some interesting insights into employee frustrations with the recruitment process. How does your organisation measure up?

- 34% find prolonged decision-making time or delayed responses frustrating
