Cybersecurity fears ramp up

Almost half of Australian employees believe their workplace is vulnerable to a cyberattack – and even more worryingly, a third of workers don’t know how to prevent themselves from falling victim to a phishing attempt at work.

Our report also reveals how many employees admit to using non-approved apps or software at work.

Employees are concerned about the data held by their employers

Just over half of Australian workers are concerned about their personal information being stolen as part of a cyber attack on their workplace.

What’s more, over 40% of Australian workers are concerned they will fall victim to a scam or phishing attempt on their work devices.

Over half of businesses are overlooking an important prevention method

Despite a third of employees admitting they don’t know how to prevent a phishing attempt, only 47% of businesses are providing training courses or education to staff.

Phishing attempts, the most common type of scam, involve social engineering where attackers deceive people into revealing sensitive information or installing malware on their devices.
