ELMO Employee Sentiment Index – Australian Mining Sector

48% of Australian workers in the mining sector are feeling burnt out, with 38% considering a career change.

That’s according to ELMO’s snapshot report of the Employee Sentiment Index (April – June 2021), which contrasts the Australian mining sector against the national response on key areas of job security, worker wellbeing and attitudes towards vaccination.

Key findings in this report include that workers in the mining sector:

• Are less likely to support employers mandating vaccinations 
• Feel their industry is less secure than the national average
• Feel overwhelmed with the amount of work they have to do
• Are more likely to feel burnt out than the rest of the nation
