ELMO Virtual Roadshow recap: New features for HR teams
What if your HR platform can help you find workforce answers without sending you back to a spreadsheet or another system?
At our first ELMO Virtual Roadshow, we covered upcoming features and improvements that can support common tasks across HR and people operations. Here’s a recap of what has changed across our platform and where we’re investing next.
Solutions to help you with everyday HR work
1. ELMO Insights: get to the answer faster

For many HR teams, reporting can take hours before the real work begins. ELMO Insights helps you prepare for leadership meetings, answer workforce questions and identify trends without building every report from scratch.
Insights allows you to:
- ask questions in plain language and receive answers in visual formats such as charts and graphs
- create dashboards for the reports you use regularly
- explore data across HR Core, Learning, Onboarding, Performance and Recruitment
- use Data Assistant to work through more complex, multi-part questions
Since launching in February 2026, ELMO Insights has helped HR teams create nearly 1000 dashboards, and have had over 8,000 AI chats and produced 4,000 charts and reports.

2. Career Development: making progress more actionable

Back in February, we set out Career Development as one of the capabilities we were building. I’m proud to say it’s now live, bringing the full development journey together.
This means:
- HR can create an organisation-wide capability framework using job description data already in ELMO
- Managers can assess their teams against the framework
- Employees can receive personalised learning recommendations
But that’s not all. Career Explorer, a new feature within Career Development, is the next step in that journey. It empowers employees to take a more active role in shaping their career path by comparing their capabilities with their current role (or a future role), and receive a clear report showing the steps they may need to take towards their goals.
Together, Career Development and Career Explorer connect organisational capability with individual career growth.

3. Recruitment is getting a glow up

You asked for a better Recruitment experience and we’re now modernising ELMO Recruitment to give recruiters and hiring managers a clearer view of the journey.
You can look forward to:
- AI screening that scores candidates against the job ad and summarises their skills and experience (don’t worry, the final decision still stays with you).
- Referoo checks for references, employment, certifications and right-to-work requirements within one workflow.
Pilot customers who used AI Screening reported up to a 70% reduction in manual resume review time. If you’re managing high volumes of applications or compliance checks, this refresh is going to help you reduce manual review, vendor juggling and repetitive data entry.
4. Salary Intelligence: support more informed pay decisions
Salary benchmarking can be time-consuming, particularly when teams combine information from different sources. We’re now piloting Salary Intelligence for Australian customers to help create more relevant salary ranges.
Each benchmark in Salary Intelligence includes a confidence indicator to help explain how the result was generated. The goal is to give HR leaders better information for pay reviews and salary conversations, without replacing human judgement.
This will be live on the platform by mid October, so stay tuned.
5. Improvements to Mobile Surveys and Course Builder
We’re also making two updates to make feedback and learning content easier to manage.
For organisations with employees working across different locations, Mobile Surveys makes it easier to gather feedback wherever they are.
And for L&D teams with training content already in PowerPoint, Course Builder can turn existing slides into editable course screens that can be refined and published through the LMS.
These two improvements help gather feedback more easily and turn existing content into training without starting from scratch.
Exploring the future of intelligent HR support
In the roadshow, our CTO, Josh McKenzie also shared two areas our R&D teams are actively working on and exploring: ELMO Assistant and AI workflows.
The idea with ELMO Assistant is anything you can do with clicks, you should be able to do with chat. So instead of clicking through screens or piecing steps together yourself, you could simply ask ELMO Assistant for help.
The other area is AI workflows, and how they can better support day-to-day people operations. We’re working towards smarter workflows that respond to real events, apply the right rules and keep work moving with less manual coordination.
For example, a promotion could trigger the relevant approvals, contract changes and payroll events in the right sequence. While these are still in discovery, the goal is to make ELMO easier to use wherever your people are working.
