A Typical ELMO Software Customer Saw $1.2M in Benefits and 129% ROI Over Three Years, Independent Study Finds

In a business landscape where HR teams are expected to do more with less, ELMO Software today announced the results of a commissioned Total Economic Impact™ (TEI) study conducted by Forrester Consulting.

A Typical ELMO Software Customer Saw $1.2M in Benefits and 129% ROI Over Three Years, Independent Study Finds

2 July 2025

The 2025 study found that organisations using ELMO Software over a three year period achieved a 129% return on investment, with payback in under six months, total quantified benefits of $1.2 million, and a net present value (NPV) of $685,000.

The TEI framework offers an objective, data-driven assessment of the financial and strategic impact of ELMO’s cloud-based solutions. Drawing on real-world results from four ELMO customers, the study combined their insights into a composite organisation: an Australian healthcare provider with 500 employees and a seven-person HR team.

Key outcomes from the study include:

  • 23,700 hours reclaimed annually to higher-value work
  • 2,184 hours saved annually on HR admin tasks
  • $772,000 in productivity gains through improved training development and rollout
90% reduction in time spent on routine HR and finance tasks
  • 80% faster reduction in time spent on producing reports
  • 70% less time managing job applicants via optimised recruitment workflows

Unquantified benefits included improved compliance, enhanced data security, a better employee experience, and support for social impact initiatives.

“The role of HR continues to evolve. Teams are expected to be strategic partners in driving organisational performance, but many are still held back by outdated systems and manual processes,” said Joseph Lyons, CEO of ELMO Software.

“Choosing a new HR platform is a big decision. That’s why we wanted an objective, third-party view of the value ELMO can deliver,” Lyons added. “We believe these findings prove that when you free HR from administrative burden, you don’t just save time – you transform how your entire organisation operates and competes.”

Organisations can also explore the benefits of ELMO using a personalised ROI calculator, commissioned by ELMO and delivered by Forrester Consulting. The tool enables HR and business leaders to model potential returns based on their own workforce size and priorities.

As one customer – the Executive General Manager of People and Culture, Healthcare and Social Assistance – put it: “We see ELMO as a fifth member in our team. We’re able to get to market a lot quicker than we could previously due to a number of roadblocks in terms of administration processes which are now all streamlined into a system.”
